About Me
Hello there,
I'm Alex Nguyen and I'm going to be an civil/architectural engineer! When I was in second grade I would always play with the building blocks during recess. I would build entire cities out of wooden blocks for my friends to play in with their toy cars. My teacher would always say "Alex do you want to be a construction worker when you grow up?" Well, she was sort of right, except I don't just want to build buildings. I want to design them!
Currently I'm studying material science engineer at the University of North Texas. I plan to graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Material Science in 2016. Afterwards I plan to obtain a Master's degree in civil engineering or maybe a Master's degree in architecture. Who knows maybe I will get both a master's in architecture and civil engineering. I have the utmost admiration for engineers. Engineers are the forerunners of the world. They are the first ones to advance humanity. Engineers are responsible for the advances in technology, in medicine, and so much more.
To Engineering firms,
Let me be honest. I hate marketing. I hate sleazy sales tactics and I hate selling myself. I know in this day and age marketing oneself is how we are suppose to prove our worth but I'm a rebel. Simply put I don't like to blindly follow the "suppose to"s in society. Sure I could list out all of my achievements, my previous job titles, my credentials and so forth but that's not me. My belief is that if the product is good it will sell itself, no need for aggressive marketing, false advertisement or anything like that. Therefore I believe my work will say volumes more about me than me trying to impress you with a list of resume boosters. I look forward to hearing from you.
Other than engineering my other passions include playing video games, learning how to play instruments, watching anime, mathematics, and testing the physical limits of my body via strength training. Yeah I know I'm pretty nerdy.
If you have any comments, concerns, questions or you happen to be in the area and just want to grab a beer and talk life feel free to use the Contact Me tab.
Cheers,
Alex Nguyen
